SimpleSMS is an SMS API for developers. With one REST API you can send and receive text messages, verify phone numbers with one-time codes, look up a number's carrier and line type, and rent phone numbers in the United States and Canada.

Who operates it

SimpleSMS is operated by Truelabel Inc, a Wyoming corporation doing business as SimpleSMS.

One mailbox receives everything, including support, billing, legal, privacy and abuse reports, and a person reads every message.

The name

The product was called Delivered until October 2026, when it was renamed SimpleSMS and moved to joinsimplesms.com. The company, the service and the terms did not change. API keys, webhook headers, packages and hosts issued under the old name keep working. The changelog entry has the details.

What the product covers

  • Messages. Outbound and inbound SMS, scheduled sends, broadcasts to a list, and automations triggered by events from your app (docs).
  • Verification. One-time codes in two API calls, billed only when a code is confirmed.
  • Numbers. Local numbers in the US and Canada, with A2P 10DLC registration filed for you (registry fees are passed through at cost).
  • Compliance. Opt-out keywords, a suppression list, a consent ledger and a registration preflight, enforced by the platform.
  • A sandbox. Free test keys that run every endpoint with simulated delivery. The free tier also includes 100 live texts a month, with no card.

SimpleSMS does not offer voice, WhatsApp, outbound MMS or delivery outside the United States and Canada. Live sending requires a short review and carrier registration.
